a lot of things are named inconsistently in zabbix (mostly frontend, but also other locations, including daemons, documentation etc).
as a minimum, user visible locations should be made consistent.

maps - connectors or links ?
items - interval (frontend) or delay (xml, flexible intervals in frontend), ?
entities - name (hosts, triggers) or description (items) - should be name.
external scripts (config file) or external checks (frontend) ?
auto-discovery -> network discovery
remote actions -> remote commands
system maps -> network maps
