currently, different messages return entity (host, different group, item etc) references in many different ways - either enclosed in square brackets or doublequotes, sometimes even with spaces thrown in there somewhere for a good mix. this should be all unified.

bolding entity names would not be the best solution probably, as it would be preferred to have the same syntax in frontend messages and the api (where bolding is not possible)
