We wanted to switch to SNMPv3 for our complete new installation of all network components. Playing with Zabbix Discovery and Items I found out that Zabbix does NOT offer to the possibility to use other methods that default MD5 and single DES , although underlying net-snmp also offers SHA1 and AES.

Even if you create a snmp.conf file in hte home directory of Zabbix the server does not use the options defined there.

Please add the according fields to the GUI to add the possibility to use higher encryption standards.

I also saw that there is a feature request about this topic, but I consider this a bug not offering this feature or using the snmp.conf file composing the SNMPv3 requests.
