Sometimes escalations don't stop mailing even tho the problems have been solved and zabbix doesn't show any problems again.
Steps to reproduce this problem:
- Trigger a problem
- After the first notification, disable the action
- Let the trigger return to it's OK state
The escalations are still in the escalations table in MySQL and will continue to send an email every hour. I usually disable actions when i expect a very large flood of notification (for example, when there is a DDoS going on) and i'm monitoring the dashboard anyway.
Workaround: Empty the escalation table in MySQL
