I was really hoping with Zabbix's flexible expressions, that there would be a couple more critical functions enabled that covered some basic things.

I can give you two major examples of this. We have 6 items which monitor a web url for a string, it's the version of a file.

For one, (at least I've tried every expression I know and last, prev, str functions), however. Zabbix will NOT compare these values if I ask it: (VERY rough and incorrect examples) item.key NOT item.key or

.last() # {[item.ke..well, I can't paste the direct examples here.

But mainly zabbix, even though the expression evaluates to "version string" NOT "version string" refuses to evaluate as last, prev, str, etc...seem to all be evaluations of 0 or 1 by themselves. Which means I have no idea how to compare them or if it's possible without writing code.

Second example (which may exist), is to ask zabbix how many times a value changed over X time. I don't know but count or change MIGHT do this. But I am having some trouble with it.

Sorry if these issues are easily resolvable. I haven't used advanced comparison expressions in a while and the documentation and interface on them is difficult to use. (More examples might help, but mainly the expressions tables, etc is hard to read).

Thank you guys and keep doing what you do! It's rare I find something I can't do easily in zabbix but these would be some examples.
