Trend based trigger functions (trendavg, trendsum etc) always uses database queries to obtain required data. Normally triggers with trend functions are not evaluated often.
However when trigger contains trend functions mixed with history or timer based functions it might result in noticeable database server load increase. To reduce it trend function cache must be added.
