Background

On the Zabbix Summit 2022 I made some suggestions regarding the names of Items and Triggers:

As suggested hereby a new case to include these improvements. Related ticket: ZBXNEXT-7949

Proposal

As part of ZBXNEXT-8029 it would also be wise to tevise the Item and Trigger names in terms of general length. Example:

Original name: Version of Zabbix agent running

Suggestion: Zabbix agent version

To conclude

The general premise here is to keep item and trigger names as short and descriptive as possible. The longer the name is, the more chance there is that a Zabbix user might not read the Item or Trigger during for example troubleshooting. This way our Zabbix users are less likely to run into what I like to call "Monitoring fatigue".

My suggestion is a general revision of these on the default templates (possibly while working on ZBXNEXT-8029) to improve things where possible.
